SPONSORED RUN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR 'CHELTENHAM COMMUNITY TRANSPORT (CCT)'
On 25th February 2007 Ryan Curtis (a supporter and ex-employee) will be running in the 'Bourton 10 Kilometre Road Race' to raise much needed funds for CCT.
CCT provides affordable and accessible transport services to elderly, frail and disabled people so that they can attend hospital appointments, access essential health care facilities, visit friends, go to the Community Centre and get to the shops. Without this service our users would be housebound and isolated, unable to get out and about.
CCT has five wheelchair accessible mini-buses and one specially adapted vehicle capable of taking one wheelchair. In addition we have over 40 volunteer drivers who drive their own vehicles and are the backbone of our service. CCT currently has over 900 registered members and last year we carried out over 67,000 journeys totaling more than 136,000 miles!
As a charity CCT is reliant on donations to provide and maintain its services. Without donations then a LOT of people in Cheltenham are going to be housebound and isolated. So show your support by calling the office on 01242 515 388 and offering to sponsor Ryan. Let's show him that his sweat and tears are appreciated by everyone who uses the service (and their families and friends too!).
Sponsorship Forms are available from the office, or to download a copy simply click 'here'.
If everything goes well then Ryan has offered to raise funds for us in various Half-marathon events around the county during the course of 2007.
