 About the Cheltenham Volunteer Centre

The organisation offers a wide range of services to individuals, groups and organisations in the Cheltenham area.

We were first established in 1982 as 'Cheltenham & District Volunteer Bureau' in order to support the voluntary sector by recruiting and placing volunteers, advising on good practice and identifying gaps in service provision.

In 2004 we adopted the name 'Cheltenham Volunteer Centre' (as part of a national rebranding exercise conducted by Volunteering England) and we play an active role in partnership and representational work at local, county-wide and regional level.

In 2006 we Incorporated (as a Company Ltd by Guarantee) under the name 'Third Sector Services' in order to be able to provide a wider range of infrastructure services to the Voluntary & Community Sector.

  • 'Cheltenham Volunteer Centre (CVC)' continues to be used as the trading name for all volunteering related activities.
  • 'Cheltenham Community Transport (CCT)' is the trading name for all transport related activities.

We currently employ 8 full time staff, 3 part time staff and more than 60 volunteers!
