OUR PURPOSE
"To provide a range of accessible transport services which benefit individuals and organisations in combatting social isolation and improving quality of life." |
|
What is Cheltenham Community Transport?
Our low cost transport services help people maintain their independence and involvement in the local community. Without our services many of our users would be housebound and isolated, unable to get out and about, go shopping, visit friends or community clubs, or even keep hospital appointments and access essential health care facilities.
Cheltenham Community Transport (CCT) aims to help combat social isolation and increase the quality of life for elderly, frail and disabled people by providing an accessible means of transport.
We have five wheelchair accessible mini-buses driven by paid staff and one specially adapted vehicle capable of taking one wheelchair. In addition we have over 40 volunteer drivers who drive their own cars and who are the backbone of the service.
We currently have over 900 registered members. During the last two years we have carried out more than 67,325 journeys - a total of over 136,000 miles!
|
We are always looking for volunteer drivers, so why not help out and make a difference to people's lives?
Volunteer drivers use their own cars and are reimbursed for mileage covered and any out of pocket expenses.
Providing over half our yearly journeys, volunteer drivers are a vaulable part of our team, with more drivers we would be able to provide more services. |
